How HHLA Next reduced time-to-market by 60% for their startup Heyport

Heyport was launched well ahead of schedule and has since developed into a great success. Since launching Heyport, we started two more startups together with HHLA Next.
Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) is a leading European logistics company. In 2021, HHLA started its innovation unit HHLA Next to build startups. They identified promising business opportunities and also got two driven founders on board to start the first venture Heyport.
The founders didn’t have relevant experience on the product and engineering side and the contacts of the founders and HHLA Next had mainly been with development agencies. They knew that if they wanted to do it right, they needed a strong and scalable team setup and build knowledge on the tech side.
Heyport can save around 14% of greenhouse gas emissions through just-in-time arrivals via a simple, intelligent, and integrated communication network across multiple ports. It decreases the back-and-forth in port call coordination by 30%, and also gives access to more than 100 carriers with automatic synchronization of schedules, which kick starts your planning routine.
